Site survey for vermin control, which seems to be a pre pre survey. a different grain store risk assesment to the red tractor one.CIPC store risk assesment. a different mycotoxinrisk assesment.and some other pest thing but not rat pests. A lot of them are pure conjecture and guess work of what may or may not happen.Apparently we are not allowed to have or use common sense. but must write everything down on paper, which is not helping the forrests at all. The insector lady was ok .But it has all got WAY over the top.

Phew. nearly passed. What a complete Farce this is. went on Red Tractor site, down loaded all the forms to do with arable, spent hours trying to work out exactly what the gobledygook meant, filled in as best as possible, then during the interroga oops inspection a lot of the forms were NOT what the NSR wanted, how the hell am I supposed to know what they want if they do not tell me?.anyway, the inspector non comformed me on a few things, then showed me a booklet that had all the stuff in that was wanted...Why do we not get supplied with this?..so could copy forms and fill them in.then I had done conformed.why do they have to fail you in the first place? One big form I will need to get my agronomist to help fill in, No mention of this form on the red tractor website. Are the NSF making extra question up just for the sake of it? The No F*&^ use union ought to be totaly ashamed of this stupidity but wait,They are making lots of money out of it.Surely this cannot be lawfull, what about conflicting interests.
Nearly passed ? presume that means failed so when can you next load a lorry? im not 100% sure but was told that if you have a non conformity i.e fail ,it blibs up on the buyers side when you send a load in dont know if and for how long that happens after you have conformed and been reinstated

Were her initials L B? We have an inspection tomorrow with a "new to us" female inspector.

The principal of a scheme funded by farmers to show that they are keeping to a production standard, was maybe reasonable to help the farmers who were paying for it.But, it has all got totaly out of control with all the most irrelevant and nonsensesecal forms and we are being beaten and persecuted by the very people who were set up supposedly to help farmers get a better deal. The red tractor lot who employ NSF to carry out inspections seem to have totaly forgotten who they are working for, and toward, and who pays the wages. and have gone on the attack. Bit like that other N** who are payed by farmers but jump into bed with the enemy.
This crap is costing me a minimum of £3,25p a tonne,If it cost Mr Smith this a tonne as well perhaps something would be done.

You make a good point, those selling direct to supermarkets had to get on board early. Supermarkets where keen so they could shift the legal responsibility away from themselves in the event of a food safety scare. “We only buy product from farm assured and inspected farms...”
Do you think the horse farmers were farm assured ?

Got my arable inspection down to 1 1/4hr this year. Quite pleased. Next year I'm going to try and beat my neighbour who got his down to 3/4hr.
It's all in the preparation.......

Had mine yesterday with one non conformance . I have saw dust in my chemical store for soaking up any spillages . It was ok last year but needs to be non flammable this year . Our inspector is fine so no problem really.

Do you think that there's maybe a pattern here? People who get a number of non conformances say that the inspector was a jobsworth. Those who don't say the inspector was fine?

Wouldn’t that leaking drum sat next to the sawdust have made it inflammable?

My last inspection in July this year I had a new man and everyone locally said unfavourable things about him.previous chap was a retired farmer and brilliant.new man was told to stop at my home at end of driveway.he did not do that and drove down to farm gate.i went to meet him and he got out of his car and I said good morning and went to shake his hand.got no response and the first thing he said was right I want to see your grain store.not really a good start and I mentioned it to local nfu who told me if I was unhappy to ask him to leave and request another person.the comments received locally were justified.
