Stirring slurry is a good opportunity for a double coffee break. One when you set the PTO going and the other once you've stopped it. You can usually polish off a whole packet of biscuits across the two breaks.

simple thing is what I use to get a big rope up a tree in order to pull safely in the direction you want it to go. Saves going up there yourself .
Also on that job the first thing to do is work out your escape route and make sure there's not dead e dx or trip hazards.in the way for you'd swift and safe exit from the imediate felling area.

Am I correct in saying that old people are disproportionately represented in farm injuries and fatalities?
Yes, I constantly point this out to ever predictable howls of 'I'm as fit and capable as i ever was at sixty something!'

For 22/23 there were 27 agricultural fatalities, 10 of which were 60 or older, and 19 were 50 or older. Admittedly 2 of the over 50 deaths (plus one of the under 50 ones) were footpath walkers who were attacked by cattle, so not really farming per se. On the other hand 2 of the under 50 deaths were from the equine and deep sea fishing industries, so not really farming there either.

Arguably there were 22 actual agriculture related deaths (disregarding footpath deaths and deaths from other industries), of which 11 were 60 or over and 17 were aged 50 or over. But of course age has nothing to do with it.......

If there us a need to use a ladder must take a bit longer and the trouble to tie it with z bit of rope at the top .so it can't slip away.

If needing
to use step ladders for anything wide leg tripod ones work well and are better than normal if cheaper ones ime.
