You really think we have sensible government? If you had right to farm laws you wouldn't need to call it that either.
I see Roy couldn't resist the "Should subsidies go" thread
I'm somewhat surprised how many agree they should go really although many of them then want farmgate prices to rise
so you don't use anything provided by the governmentIf that's the case I'm still Waiting

What? Roads that we pay a massive fuel tax to fund?
Hospitals (rarely) that I pay private health insurance to get into , then pay a $500 excess every time your admitted as well....
Basic government services that the whole population uses cant be compared to direct annual farm payments......the drought relief packages offered up by the federal government last year are just a joke to make them look like they did something. You need to be virtually destitute to qualify....then if your unviable, you still dont qualify.....
Cows they pay au $2.61a litre for road diesel over there. Makes our $1.49 (81p) seem cheap. Mind you they don't pay council rates on farm land value and a lot of that must go to maintaining local roads.
Ive got plenty of free sky water today hopefully it will come up your way.
Sounds wonderful.....
Around 60p/litre here at the moment.Yes
Yes, but they also pay less for "red diesel" than we do for eligible off road use once we've CLAIMED BACK the rebate
Unfortunately all I saw was a black cloud pass byCows they pay au $2.61a litre for road diesel over there. Makes our $1.49 (81p) seem cheap. Mind you they don't pay council rates on farm land value and a lot of that must go to maintaining local roads.

It's about $1.60 here at the pump, I think, so that's about the same 80p mark.Cows they pay au $2.61a litre for road diesel over there. Makes our $1.49 (81p) seem cheap. Mind you they don't pay council rates on farm land value and a lot of that must go to maintaining local roads.

So what's your point? Your the one claiming we receive subsidies here and in NZ. I asked you to point out what they are. I haven't seen anything yet.Yes I can and I will if you don't mind.
I pay taxes so the gov can supply services some of which I never use so fork you if you think I am going to apologise for picking up a few quid because the gov decided it was a good idea to pay it to me for keeping the bit of land I am in charge of in good agricultural and environmental condition
