What's going to follow on that land Roy?
because we have a full profile of moisture ( our biggest limiting factor ) under the mungbean stubble - the crop that was harvested flat on the ground - we will plant Durum straight into it in June / July
The sorghum stubble, I’ll plant any random legumes I can find ( left over chickpea & faba bean seed ), including clover & vetch if I can find some cheap enough & also some tillage radish / turnips if the seed isn’t too dear, as a cover crop. I will carry that through to spring / flowering ( Oct ? ), before terminating it & fallowing it ( to rebuild moisture levels ) through to a winter crop in June / July next year, most likely Durum also. There will be a lot of wild oats & arg come up, so that will take care of my grass component & add diversity
