@Clive @Chris F could this be worth further investigation?
Agree. Maybe I've missed something but I've not noticed any industry guided response to this. There must be loads of FFP3 masks on farm's. The talk of PPE being delivered to hospitals is nonsense. I have a relation who is a doctor in a London hospital and from what I understand they are not allowed the FFP3 masks under normal working conditions, despite working with patients. It sounds as if the FFP3 masks are being rationed for certain circumstances, such as resuscitation perhaps although i don't know the full details. The staff are able to take and use their own PPE so I've sent her face shields and masks. I've also heard from friends locally who work in the community for the NHS and they have said the same about the FFP3 being saved for certain circumstances and not available generally. @Clive @Chris F

My wife raided my ffpp2 collection and took them to the GP surgery were she works as a nurse.
Ive got air cap forced air helmets to wear, claim to be ffpp2 standard.

All these standards only count if masks are fitted correctly, there are procedures and fitting test kits available,
beyond my knowledge how to fit them properly or not

I would think most paint supply places have more masks than farmers, it's not like bodyshops are busy or will be any time soon.

People thought I was mad using my FFP3 respirator and glasses everytime I go shopping but now see pizza delivery guys using the same and gloves so at least the message is getting out there. Unfortunately dont have any spares as I gave up on disposables years ago.

The talk of PPE being delivered to hospitals is indeed nonsense.
Part of Mrs Happy’s job at the moment is to take swabs each day from any patients in her ward with a new cough or high temperature.
PPE consists of some of my dust masks and a Dickies boiler suit that gets brought home in a bin bag and put in the wash every night.
They have been promised masks and scrubs but as yet nothing materialised.
Where on earth they are going to get some for the home carers they were promising them for today goodness knows:scratchhead:

Me too. Was a bit nervous the first shop I went into but no one really gives you a second glance. Mind, the % of people wearing masks is incredibly low but it's not clear if people would wear them if they could get them.

Not sure what TFF can do to help here ?

if you have suitable masks then maybe just post them to your local hospital directly ?

A mate has offered an unopened box of 1000 masks to his local gp.
'Sorry we don't want them if they are out of date'
Bless the nhs!

Pal of my father worked as a civilian storeman in a military camp til 2 years ago. They discovered a pallet of oil and fuel filters to service Perkins engines, every single one of them went to the skip. Same for skip load of ratchet straps a few months before that.

I’d guarantee there was tens of thousands items of PPE dumped too.

or maybe if everyone sent their masks to the TFF office we could group them circa mass donation ?

happy to do it that way if preferable ?

Tried to buy some as we're dressing wheat out of store this week: "None to be had for love nor money".
Now wondering if I'm hacking my lungs up because of dust or Covid19. My advice to farmers is to hang on to them, you bought them for a valid reason in the first place (cough), and come harvest your lungs will need looking after too.
If someone has a few boxes fair enough, but I doubt many farmers are sitting on more than a part box of 10 or 20.

PF1 or 2 plenty good enough for most farming operations. It’s the 3’s that are needed most.

If only they would donate them to farmers!
