Farmers earn more from YouTube than their crops

Olly Farms channel is such a disgrace it becomes a bit addictive to watch. The latest video is basically asking the audience if he should get a new Toyota Hilux or Land Rover Defender. He then sets a poll for people to answer.

Then says hes not going to be sure which one is better until he gets a demo from Toyota UK. Ah like what rubbish.

Poor cherry attachments were called out in another video basically being asked to deliver bale handlers before a certain day that week so he could go contracting with them. He is using these companies left, right and centre to get free demos and big deals. Id love to know what he says on the phone to them.

Also watched a video recently, he got an awful slating in it about wheres he getting all the money to buy the new machinery. All negative comments were deleted later on.
He cant take any negative comments, we put our selves out there and are always going to get negative comments or people who think your doing it wrong, you just have to stuck it it and ignore them, we cant please everyone. I only do it as a hobby and not to make money or try and get stuff for free. Olly farm blocked me

Have I missed it which is your channel?

That video where is car got stuck I'm surprised no one called him out about the fact he left his house to go to the farm at 10 past 9 that morning, then filmed his dad feeding the sheep and went home early while his dad was left to feed the cows.
Now he's realised his wee hatchback isn't practical for the farm, from the 2 days of snow they've had and wants a £40K land rover
Like you said, he's only ever filmed himself feeding a pen of calves.
Apparently he's had great feedback from farmers in his emails for contracting work, so he's convinced he's going to get loads of work, despite the fact it took him atleast 2 days to cover two fields with an 18ton dung spreader when all the dung was tipped in the field. 😂
That lad doesnt have a clue what a hard day at work is, hes not a good role model

I think several of us have known for a long time and been amused at the fact that he deletes any negative comments and then blocks that person. If you do YouTube you have to accept negative comments, only offensive or rude ones get deleted off my own channel (gaming not real life farming) everything else stays, as you say, we put ourselves out there so have to accept it.

I wouldn’t agree he has worked for everything he has, I would think his dads done (and still doing) the lion’s share of the work.
I think that is a little harsh. He had the foresight and motivation to make that farm work in a different way.
I don't actually enjoy his vids all that much (just my preference), but one cannot fault that lad. Even with what he takes on, he doesn't shy away from any work

I’m not knocking him for what he does, I just wouldn’t say that he has worked for everything he has, his dad has obviously worked.

I remember seeing you comment on one of his videos 😂 I also remember seeing The Hay Team comment about his criticism of Kuhn machinery’s build quality, which also got deleted. Olly blocked me and deleted my comment after him talking about potentially buying a Fastrac and how great it would be to pull his trailers everywhere at 60kph, all I said in the comment was he’d need to upgrade his trailers because 8 stud axles without air brakes is illegal at that speed.
Its extremely petty blocking and deleting someone for pointing out a f**king legal requirement in agriculture.

Why did he block you?
You will need to change the name and photo on your you tube channel to something green

His old man has worked extremely hard through some bloody tough times, I bet that farm shop and retail milk has saved em long before YouTube.

I must live in a different country to you, mid 80s , interest rates @16+ % , milk quotas , was it 84? BSE, Foot and mouth was no picnic round here. 2 pals of mine took their own lives because of that.
And I’m not saying Tom’s dad had those problems, I saying if your in a family business and you haven’t started from scratch you probably have a lot to thank your parents , uncles aunties grandparents, whoever for.
Just saying

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
