My trioliet feed out conveyor joint is failing. The little staples have failed on one section on one side..

Repair kit not available locally apparently. So new belt on order ..

But need a solution pdq.

Anyone got ideas?

Any of your local dealers will have a belt repair set up for conveyor & baler belts etc, alligator or similar, just take the belt to them & have them stick a short piece in...................a piece of ordinary rubber will do until your new belt arrives.............you can then keep it as a spare

If you cut the metal joint off would the belt still be long enough?
If so get a new joiner from a local belt supplier.
The ones that are fixed into the belt with “pop rivets” are probably a better/stronger job than that wire one.
Have you a quarry local? They could direct you in the right direction.

You'd think they would have such items...they don't. Sadly and frustratingly.
Thankyou for your suggestion tho!

Just had a quick look online.
Engineeringstores.Co.uk do a Mato easy clip in stainless steel.
When we were using belts with silage, we found that type of fastener lasted better than the alligator type that you have.
You could order online and fix yourself. Just make sure to cut belt square and straight and leave a little slack for the hinge. Also get fastener to suit your pulley size.

Can you get your hand behind it if you slacken it right off?

If so, you could try drilling a row of small holes in the belt either side of the split and pulling it together with cable ties.

I can slacken off but cant get in between the upper and lower layers so this kind of repair is difficult without a sutre type needle! Thankyou anyway.. I have attemped a darning with poly elec fencing wire just to close the gap as best as poss
