There needs to be a decent reward for having to look at a shed full of Holsteins every day

Using eco boost intense from tithebarn doing 2.2 kg a day with holstein bulls making £200 per head, plus all the muck to put back on the land. Had one Bull kill out at 404 kg at 53 weeks old.

Very good. I have a batch of steers doing 2kg right now and that blew my mind, they are beef bred, the Holstein bullocks in the next yard are doing 1.8.
2.2 kg! Wow.

Do you know it was definitely kidney failure? If it was I would think the change to fresh barley was just a coincidence.

This bull didn't have diorea or any sighn of acidosis. His scrotum was like an overinflated balloon and the area around, not the digestive area.
Vet thought allergic reaction and treated that way but took blood. Test came back lacking something telling him kidney failure.
So I lean to coincidence @bovine ?

Sounds like a case of urinary calculi (kidney stones) to me.
