Feeding Potatoes to lambs

I have plenty of stock feed potatoes at the minute and I have also recently housed the tail end of my ram lambs for finishing. Are there any issues with feeding waste potatoes to lambs or sheep in general? They will still be on add lib meal but was thinking of just firing some up along the feed barrier every day for them. They can be washed and chopped. There will be green potatoes among them

no problems , BUT its getting them to eat them !, need chopping and mixing with something else to start , they will get as fat as butter , dont if possible feed too many green ones or too many shoots .

I think I’ll give them a few and see how they go then. There won’t be any shoots in them and mostly just a green shoulder on the odd one, not massive amounts of pure green ones.

yes thats ok , keep them sheeted (breathable ) or out the light , once eating them they do well but will need protein (tip : start with chopped carrots and gradually increase pots)

Yea i would be using them as we pick the good spuds out so they will have been stored in the dark up to that. Not a massive scale, only grew 2 acres but it’s surprising how much waste there is after we get the good picked out. Like the carrots idea, they would be a bit sweeter I suppose
