Feeling sick

Don't apologise for posting. Do you think having a check up with the GP might reassure you and help settle any worries? Perhaps try not to leave too long gaps between eating so you don't get too empty? Eating small amounts often even if it is snack food can be better than waiting till you are really empty and your stomach has not got anything to work on. I hope you feel better soon.

I try to have a nibble ever two hours usually. But at silage it's a whole new eating routine as never know if it's lunch box or home for dinner. Have felt pressured for weeks and knew somethjnf in me wasn't right. Mum and me are awaiting to get a number of s counsellor that works for main company in local town but also so private visits to and see if I can get appointment or home visit. At moment I'm home sitting and meant to be relaxing but all I can think is that there's a lot of silage customers left as only started and if I'm like this after 2 days what if I'm like this every day till it's done. I couldn't handle that. I know my health comes first but I know people will think bad of me because of it

I feel sick carting silage, it's a horrible job. Feel like a pea in a tin getting rattled about. See if you can get on rake or on silage pit. Much more civilised.

Silage boss doesn't have a rake or does buckraking. The farmer pushes it all in. Once I start sick feeling the bumping about makes it worse

@will6910 , you sound like you are over worrying the situation.
You need to eat more regularly. Take good food [not sugar based] and eat it regularly through the day. Sandwiches are good.
You are going home at night knowing that there is more to be done than has been before the weather changes or machinery breaks. These are good worries to have.

If it were your farm you would press on and get home late and fall asleep.
I think that you are worrying for your employer which is admirable but it is HIS problem not yours. I can't say let it go, because I worked beyond 10pm a few weeks ago on a problem that was not mine because I knew I wouldn't sleep if I went home without having done this.

A few questions for you to think about:
  • can you make food that you can eat when driving?
  • What is keeping you anxious?
  • what could you try to reduce the anxiety?

I ask these question for you to think about because I think they are important for you.

The only thing I can guarantee is that if you change nothing then it will be the same. You should think about what single small step that you can make that will make it different and plan and plan and then try it out.

Try and fix something that you can identify as wrong. If you don't change, it it will stay the same.

It may help you to think how someone you respect does this and ask yourself "what would they do" and then try this.

Thanks for ur reply. I can't give a full answer for what gets me anxious. Anything really. If something breaks on tractor or if something sick with my sheep or if something breaks out. Those just some of the things really. It being out of routine to gets to me. I'm very big on my routine

@will6910 Routine is fine - more questions for you to think about.
How do changes happen to one or many routines?
Can you do anything to make changes quicker?
[also you should think about the other questions]
  • can you make food that you can eat when driving?

I try to change them slowly. Like for meal times. Maybe have dinner or breakfast different times to build it up so I can see it's not end world. I usually bring sandwiches with me and bars and biscuits to nibble at on the move. I try to lift mind with radio and playing along with games but when at grass If I get so far and at a certain bad stage I can't even listen to radio or songs or take anything in at all

Will, slightly different track but do you always have the same sandwiches at lunchtime? Is there something that you are eating that doesn't agree with you?

Not really same most years. Only ever have Ines over silage time. So could be routine again. Feeling ok today as it's wet so know won't be silage anytime to soon or any phone calls

Was back at silage today. I was prescribed the diazapam stuff for years with doctor, so did a trial today. Didn't start till lunch time so took a half spoon full in morning, then had my pack lunch at usual time, then had another half spoon at 5, was able to stay then till half 7 and got home about 8 and had a proper dinner. Well didn't eat it all but more than previously. And now home for day and feel fine. Got a relief driver to take over for me for tonight tho once dodgy field was lifted. So pretty pleased I managed a day sort of an felt ok. Had few dodgy moment but didn't come to much

Ok sorry me again, I think Iv found answer to one of many many reasons I get worked up. In my head things can't wait, if i have s job to do I feel in head have to do it quickly so less chance of me being unwell or tired during it. If I have to go to silage at 9 ij morning for instance i struggle to concentrate on my own jobs at home as i feel have to not be late. If I have tonhe there at 9 I have to be there at 9. Or if I'm at silage I put pressure on my self to stay so not to slow down the process by having a trailer less for s hour or two. If I'm at grass I be thinking about all the jobs I have to do at home then I get anxious and frustrated that I can't do them. Sorry for more nonsense but been quiet day today and know that I have to do it all again this week

@will6910 So you have realised what makes you stressed. Too many jobs, not enough time. This is quite usual.
You should think about ways of dealing with it, there aren't many choices but some are:
  • Don't worry about anything
  • Prioritise jobs and if the bottom ones don't get done they will still be there tomorrow. You choose what gets done.
  • Worry about everything and get less done.
The most difficult of the list is the middle one, which one do you want to do and why?

But for me, I could plan now tonight what il do tomorrow morning, check sheep, get topper on move batch sheep etc but I couod wake up in mormjnf and get half way round sheep and couod get call from boss saying starting silage at 10 o'clock and if I had plans made I get anxious of change of routine or my plan won't come off and that gets me worked up. I struggle to say no I'm unable to go but can go a hour later as boss and farmers don't be happy and hate annoying people. Even tho it makes me unwell

Hello will, maybe turning off your mobile phone in the mornings ontil your ready ,could be worth a try .I lost my mobile fone on friday out in a field ,and with the help of another fone I found it again,, but for a while whilst looking for it I had made up my mind that if I didn't find it ,I would do with out it ,and have to say it was nice feeling for a while,, didn't last ,fone found and back to the ding dust again.:poop:

@will6910 Above advice is good, text the night before and say "in at 10 as agreed" and turn phone off. In the longer term you might want to try ways of being more flexible. Could you see having a plan A and a plan B?

So already know that I won't be goijf full time again next year and either go back to that relief driver approach or stop completely

@will6910 If you are happy with this then that is good. If you have a niggling feeling that you would like it to be different then you will need to plan.
Do you feel you plan the right amount?

I think I nearly over plan and over think things. If I plan to do a job a certain day and I can't get it done it bugs me till it's done. If people knew how small of a farm I have and get anxious over it would be crazy

@will6910 A while ago I suggested you try and think about someone who you admire and think what they would do and copy it as best you can. Could you try this?
