I remember when you couldn’t afford to run the 7530😂 your a hard man on kit.
At least with the Fendt on warranty your not going to get a nasty surprise,I hope does well for you.👍
I'm blaming my brother for that! He was on it.

Fendt shouldn't really be stressed. Ploughing, drilling, spraying, square baling.
🤞

The New Holland only had the 2 major breakdowns mentioned above. Otherwise it was very reliable, no niggly things.

The last one was just very bad timing on its part, as it was just before it's replacement was being bought.

We've just kept it after all we've spent on it.

Was the original plan to trade it for a new 1

I know of several local farms & contractors who have brought 728’s and justified them! I can’t help but think there charge per acre will stay the same / price of their wheat will stay the same so how they can justify paying 85k more for something I don’t know. It’s 85k that will be taken straight out the cash flow over the same amount of time the other colour machine would be on farm and I’d say with certainty that it won’t be worth 85k more than the other colour In 3/4/5 years time.

having said that I’d buy one tomorrow if there was only 20 grand between them like there used to be!
Problem is that interest rates means that the extra £85k is nearly £120k in 5 yrs

We couldn't afford to run new Hollands anymore, so bought a Fendt.

Last breakdown cost £20k, 17 plate t7 260 6800 hours.

Already had a 10k repair at 3500 hours, so both outwith 3 year 3k hour warranty.

So your 30k warranty is covered there.

Juries out on the Fendt, if it's sh!t I'll say so. Don't have any brand allegiance.

Been ploughing with a 6f with it all day today in wet going. Needs a bit of weight on front.

Be interesting when I attach 3m packomat press to it.🤦

fair play thats not heavy looking ground though,

ok uve covered the warranty extension there BUT is that the rule or the exception as ive taken plenty over 10k hrs without such bills so far, mabye im due one but i definately wouldnt expect 30k of repairs outwith warranty on every NH, if they were that bad i wouldnt buy them

Nonsense. 6 furrow ploughs have been pulled by tractors with a lot less horse power than a Fendt 724. The only difference is, they didn't look as cool, it was harder work for the operator and it was before the days of fudging tiktok.
We have ploughed with 5 14" furrows at 7" deep on a 720, not sure I'd want 6 on it.

New 6f will go on 936 or 8370RT both on land.

I'd find another lender 100k loan on that tractor over 2 years is costing £4962.
extra £85k tied up in a tractor vs either earning 5% or saving 5% interest over 5 years...

Personally I don't give a flying fig what anyone chooses to pay/drive etc. but on one hand we have posts here saying how tight everything is an we can't make money, then posts saying it's worth paying out £85k more for a tractor rather than drive a New Holland :ROFLMAO:

What odds does it make. This forum is full of folk moaning like arsh about how hard times are but then folk are also posting about new cars, trucks, firearms, holidays or how much time they wasted this week riding a fudging pushbike, whatever.

None of it is really necessary, is it?

each to their own, but have we all been led into always thinking we need the higher spec, premium brand etc which ultimately pushes up costs.

Personally after owning two Fendt’s from new I’d prefer a mortgage and run something cheaper,I’ve had ten new tractors in the last 15 years, haven’t had a new one since 21 and I can’t get enthusiastic about ever buying a new one again, still need someone to buy new though so there’s 2nd hand to buy.

I know what you mean...the cost outweigh the novelty - I think manufacturers will just push fleets out to hire companies to hide actual prices and that will keep sales moving and bring SH ones onto the market. I can't imagine what some of the contractors finance charges will be going forward.

Ultimately it all has to be paid for somewhere by someone. Although where the ultimate ceiling is, who can say? You don't need a lot of these 'things' to keep a cow or rear a pig but plenty of folk have invested money in a variety of bits and pieces to make life easier or whatever. It's not just tractor makers that are on the scene with this either, plenty of folk putting up sheds, buying land or whatever else as part of their long term business plans. Their money, their choice. As I've said many times before, given the hours of work involved folk deserve every possible luxury they can get in my book.
