Does anyone have any information on this? It would be greatly appreciated ! I figure it's an industrial 35 or something? It's got a front loader and back actor

Massey 35 3 cyl engine, Massey 65 back end. Gearbox should be either a six speed (3x2) manual or a 4 speed (2x2) instant reverse unit. From memory it weighs around 5 tons. Tyres should be 7.50x16 8 ply on the front, 16.9x24 on the back. Hydraulics are run by a Dowty type pump driven by a carden shaft off the front pulley. Back actor is on a sliding king post, the whole rear frame can be detached to use the 3pl. Looks like it's had some sort of welded repair on the left loader arm.

Sorry, not a clue!
Check the crowd rams are straight. If you push forward with the front bucket at full dump you can pivot past the limit and tweak the rams.
I think it's a manual box as the IR had a hand operated diff lock and I don't see the lever.

My manual transmission mf 40 has a hand operated diff lock.

depends what your using it for,just loader work better with the shuttle gearbox,if you want to unhitch the digger and run anything on the three point hitch your better with the manual box.

As blue said, depends what you want it for and what you're used to. The manual is laid out in the normal fashion ie clutch on the left, brakes/ throttle on the right.
The IR has the brakes on the left, with 3 pedals on the right - REV-ACC-FOR, press the right pedal to go forward, the left to go backwards, and the middle one to accelerate. There is no hand shuttle lever to operate. The downside to this is if you need to 'crash stop', invariably muscle memory will cause you to hit the left brake pedal and the reverse pedal at the same time resulting in an unplanned reverse turn. Seen it done and done it myself. :oops:
Blue, the diff lock lever is an odd one. All our 40s had both the lever and pedal, on the manual and IR. I remember the lever on the IR 203 but not the manual - although that said I can't remember what I had for breakfast. ;)

Just a lever no pedal on mine,its a very late model,fantastic tractors the best ever made,everything just feels right about them.

Ah I see. To be honest I'm more interested if it affects the value. I might use it as a temporary yoke around the farm but I probably would be moving it on within a few months so I don't want to overpay. Was curious is one type more attractive than the other to potential buyers
