Kuhn HEMC for hydraulic drive

If going amazone then a za ta is the one to go for.

I'm onto my 3rd kv and it's very good but I do miss hydraulic drive for hills
Kv spread pattern definitely works on hills I had Kuhn before and where it striped the kv just doesn't unless I've nor set it right but it just stripes everything then not just hills

KV do hydraulic drive in two different ways.

i wish id bought the ZA-TS. the year i bought mine fertiliser was cheap so i thought id just save the money on the machine and risk wasting a couple tons. regretting that decision now.

That makes a very expensive machine out of reach I'd say .

My ideal machine would be kv discs with kuhn HEMC system for application rate and headland control
I looked at a Kuhn before I got my first geo-spread machine and the emc was the bit that totally put me off that machine. Talk about over completing a system! Personally I don’t think you can beet just weigh cells and I can’t see the point in hydraulic drive if your using a vario transmission either. PTO in 540E or even 1000 set revs and let the transmission do the work, pto speed never varies.

I had hydraulic kuhn and it was far superior in some ways to the kv because it could check what was going out each side but striped steep stuff . Also it was far better on headland as it slows down the disc rather than throwing it through a deflector so it didn't dust the fert so the tractor was always cleaner

I've had my kv on a JD case and jcb all vario and all run on and pick up engine revs coming downhill and all except older JD couldn't maintain 540 going uphill so that's where the hydraulic comes into it's own for me .

Only benefit I can see is the ability to reduce the revs you’re running at, but that takes a long time to pay the extra cost off.

Your hills must be a lot steeper than mine 😉😂

There are a few threads already but I think basically there are vicon/kv/ kubota all the same spreader or sulky. Amazone are ok but the spread pattern isn’t my personal favourite.
I concur, current Amazone is a bit underwhelming at everything really.

Looking at a swap this time too, KRM & Sulky on the shortlist

Now Then..
On the John Deere are you using it on the hand throttle or 'PTO cruise'??

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
