A little cheaper I think plus more accurate ?
the question is will you make a profit at these prices
The load of urea I ordered yesterday will effectively cost me £95/ha (on wheat) more than the urea I bought last year. So for first wheats that is probably £10/t extra in production costs.the question is will you make a profit at these prices
Or it might be the case that the frenchman selling to an englishmen has sold the nitram to him at that price because it has sat outside and will come out of the bag in one great big lump!?The ‘Englishman that lives in France’ seems to have bought old stock from a local merchant that has chosen to continue selling that old stock at the price he was charging for it a few months ago, rather than profiteering from the recent price run as most would here.
A good merchant to do business with.
Who off?30.3 n 10 s this afternoon 421/cube

Same as what I paid last year. 50 quid dearer but I chuck a cwt/AC on everything so it's only costing £2.50/acre......I can live with that.I paid 140 for polysulphate in the spring. Not thinking of using it this year spring hoping ! To buy liquid as in spring it should cover the sulower requirement if I can get the product?
Collected some of mine today 20 miles away , the days of multi drop seed deliveries are over imo
Think I’ve just cleaned them out this afternoon .Try Quantil, a gem of a company in the North West, delivered 5 bags to me within 7 days of the order, they grow the seed, dress it themselves & deliver with their own transport.
why do we home save seed?because in most cases we can produce a better sample and have it ready to sow when we want to . having said that the last new wheat seed we bought was gleam , produced by wynstay and it was excelant. this year we have had to have all new barley seed as ours was not good enough, ordered throgh our agronomist once again wynstay it looks brill, hope it comes well or ill have egg on my face most in the ground now so wont have to wait long to know.Think I’ve just cleaned them out this afternoon .
I know two other farms still no wheat seed until end of next week at the earliest!
We usually farm save most of our seed and just buy a couple of tons of new seed every now and then if we want a different variety. This year we got 10 days of rain in August which caused some sprouting in two of my varieties and buggered the germination so have had to source seed last minute!why do we home save seed?because in most cases we can produce a better sample and have it ready to sow when we want to . having said that the last new wheat seed we bought was gleam , produced by wynstay and it was excelant. this year we have had to have all new barley seed as ours was not good enough, ordered throgh our agronomist once again wynstay it looks brill, hope it comes well or ill have egg on my face most in the ground now so wont have to wait long to know.
If farmers keep panic buying it will.. and why not, they like a profit.Yara fert going up another £15 tomorrow I’ve been told and showing no signs of slowing up
