Price tracker thread!

I was discussing that very thing yesterday but having bought 16k worth of compound a couple of weeks ago for extra cover I really wasn't up for more in my stomach. It was starting to make sense in my head though but might have missed the boat.

MOP still mid 500's?

Paid £565 for MOP
Much of it comes out of Russia and Belarus so thought I would get some covered. May take a P holiday next year but my ground really needs the K

Good question. In November the story off one firm was that the fert that had been made with the expensive gas would be sold by late spring. This was priced at November values. The prediction then was gas price would stabilise (it did drop somewhat after then for a while) and once this fert had been sold the price would drop. Although I agree to some degree what you are both saying it would appear that the price has gone in the opposite direction even though there’s some cheaper made fertiliser in storage still to be sold. Now some firms have declared that they won’t capitalise out of farmers in this situation just to throw into the equation. It all points to a bigger mark up on exciting product in storage rather than manufacturing costs being passed on.

Surely people arent still buying the fert for this year? Are yous buying early for 2023? That could be wise
I have enough fertiliser for the spring but would usually buy as I need it over the summer. I have enough fodder for this coming winter so it's possible that everything will be grazed. Lamb and beef prices are going to have to lift dramatically or numbers are going to dramatically reduce over the next 12 months. ☹
