Fertiliser timing on W barley

I'd get the rest of the urea on the barley now before the rain on Thursday, you need to be 10days earlier with urea compared to AN we tried urea the last two years on the first passes back to all AN this year and crops seem better for it.
I couldn't resist the £180 ton back in Sept for Feb payment . I've got AN for later applications on wheat.

Just because it's all urea doesn't mean it will be weeks before it's available to the crop. The BBC weather forecast is for 19 oC here on Thursday - urea will be crop available within 3 days at that temperature & with the predicted moisture to come too.

I'm doing mine now.
Any chance of a pic? Would like to see what stage it's at and your crops are usually a nice sight.

Bit further north here, but to discount that, I was planning the final urea around the time of the T1 spray - too late? It's had 70 out of a 120 unit plan so far (well mucked, grass-in-rotation heavy land).

T1 on most forward barley. Will get last dose of N next week when I am hopefully putting some on the spring drilling that hasnt happened yet.

As long as winter barley has had at least 60% of its N by now you can relax a bit & finish before GS33. Early N makes straw but not necessarily grain.

As described above, really just waking up from its yellow slumber. Plan to play it cool for a fortnight.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
