Fibrophos

Does anybody know whether you can store Fibrophos in a grain store, well in an empty bay? Would this fall foul of ACCS? Or could you store it safely and clean out for next harvest? If a lorry was tipped would it be a problem for stored grain in an adjacent bay?

In practice it is quite dusty. I cannot see how the dust won’t contaminate adjacent grain. Should be perfectly possible to clean the store afterwards though. You did ask!!

I know grain hauliers are not allowed to use the same trailers for hauling Fibrophos.

How much do you want to store?

It keeps reasonably well outside . If you pushed it up against a wall, stacked it high and steep then sheeted it I think it would be ok. I’ve been caught out with weather occasionally over the years and had to sheet it until the ground dries and it still spreads ok.

Fibrophos is on the TASCC haulage exclusion list because it may contain meat & bone meal ash, meaning that a vehicle that has carried Fibrophos cannot be ever used to carry assured grain.

I can't imagine a FA inspector will be happy about it being tipped in a grain store.

Put it outside? Don’t know why you would want to put it in any shed. I do some contract spreading of fibrophos and whenever it’s gone in any kindness of shed it’s an absolute nightmare to clear up and sticks to walls/concrete horribly.
