They really hurt my feelings  to be fair it was just weird to see cows stand there and not run wild  the ones here go nuts if you just walk passed!

According to strava I was the only runner on that route today  but then others just might not use strava :ROFLMAO:

It was quite nice not to do the miles around abercastle and trefin hills
If your running through watch out for the jack russell if she's out, ripped a passer by's trouser leg today.

Today, I met an old chap down the lane, between the villages

Beautiful sunny and frosty,crisp day

I have seen his car parked on the roadside verge a few times, but assumed he was a metal detector or some such with permission from one of the farmers in next village

However, I have seen an old chap walking regularly, on a circuit of the local 3 villages (about 3.5 miles) but never spoken to him

Today I did, we exchanged pleasantries, like cracking day for a walk etc

I said I'd often see him around here and he said his 'walking year' runs from 1st Feb to 31st Jan and this current year is fast coming to a close

He said this year he's walked nigh on 700 miles............ he keeps a diary every day of where he goes/mileage/weather/first snowdrops/which animals he sees etc

Blimey that's some going, says I

Do you mind me asking how old you are, not a bit says he..................I am in my 81st year

I said to him............ YOU have my utmost respect, sir

I bet the Doctors in town doesn't see you very often, does it?

He quipped, not much.............. but I do have Glaucoma and a bit of arthritis now

Seeing him walk, he tilts his hips from side to side, swinging his poles in an unusual gait

He also quipped, I haven't got any legs either..............puzzled, I ask - what do you mean?

I am on 2 prosthetics, from below the knee.............been like it for nigh on 60 years as I lost both lower legs in a farming accident - in a threshing machine when I was 26 - took me 2 years to walk again

What an amazing chap, real advert for fitness, exercise and sheer grit - still walking 700 miles per year at nearly 81 and on 2 false legs

I like that route. I used to do it in the mornings before work when tedi was on livery in caerhys! Quite flat too!
I've just entered the Ras Dewi Sant 10k on the 2nd of March, i was thinking of doing it then saw on twitter it was 95% full so I thought I'd go for it.:nailbiting:

Matt just showed me on fb  so proud (y) is that all on coast path? How was your 5k route?
5k was good, although I went round the wrong way so the big hill was towards the end. I had an hour to kill in Goodwick last night so I did another half hour or so then, which included running up as far as the vets in Fishguard:(

Hey there I just joined. I have to say I have been struggling with fitness for many years especially since I have had a few injuries that I got when I was in high school. I have always struggled with extra weight so I always been working out. One of my favorite workouts is yoga though. I know that it sounds weird but I feel like yoga actually helps me not only physically but also mentally. I have had some anxiety issues and meditation as been very useful for me. I also strengthened my muscles and flexibility as well as lost some weight. I loved the results. The best results that I had was when I went to a yoga retreat in India. It kind of helped me immerse in the mindset of a yogi. I was suppose to go to another retreat but then the pandemic kicked in so I had to change my plans. I decided to look for something closer to home and settled my eyes on yoga retreats that are settled in Costa Rica. I did some research and booed myself a two week stay at one of those retreats by the ocean. I am hoping that it will be a good experience and I will lose some more weight hehe. Wish me luck
