You guys will all be pleased to know that from July the 1st the manufacturer has put Clik, Clikzin up 3% to us guys!! Leaving us no choice but to buy next year's stock now, that's laying out approx. £250k in stock ready to be competitive next year. Surely there is a breaking point that you guys say 'enough, I'm not paying that for a product?'. My job is to advise you guys on the pro/cons of any product and then have it available at a competitive price but Clik is IMO brilliant but getting close to being to dear..?
That and zolvix

I believe that you get 10 years on a patent with a potential 3 years extention on that??? I think that the active is no problem to make but it's more the fleece bind technology that is an issue. My thoughts are that it is due off in the next couple of years and that's why we have Clik Extra now, protection by improvement possibly?? Still think if a generic was £125 (guessing...) a bottle on farm then 16 weeks would still be ok. Start saving now lads...

How is everyone getting on with Clik Extra? I used normal Clik this year. My neighbour has used Clik Extra and has had several struck ewes after only about 8 weeks from application. I have had none. He is the sort of guy who would apply the full dose as a minimum and has shedding sheep so was really surprised he'd had strikes. Anyone else found this? Was keen to use it next year but now not so sure!!

How long before Clik is off patent? It must be getting close, then generics will slash the price.(y)

Elanco are absolutely taking the pee on price, as they have done for a few years now.

heard last week , apparently there may be a generic version available from next dec , BUT elanco hold the patent on the fleece bind tech even though the igr is out of patent, so it may not last but may be ok for the 12 weeks , thats why the click extra has been released (new patent)

Have they spoken to their vet or supplier? They should take it up with Elanco.

Been waiting 20 years on a Vetrazin generic coming out :cautious:

I deteste Elanco greatly. And make the point of using anything else on the market, out of principal. Vecoxan being the only drug I cross my own picket line for...

Could it be that the shedding sheep don't have enough lanolin/fleece to make use of the 'fleece bind' technology? Hence the reason for it not working as well? Either that or application error - not covering the full length of spine and back end.

we are having a lot of trouble with strike this year, lambs were only done with ecto fly 4.5 weeks ago and desperately need doing again. Now i know that product only treats where you apply it but im getting it all over.
Im going to use dysect this time as the ectofly has only given us 4 weeks cover. Suppler has offered us more ectofly but i wouldnt take it, id sooner catch half a dozen a day and wait for the dysect.
The ewes have only been sheared 3 weeks and are getting strike already.

Prob another thread but what does everyone else use? Got about 3000 to do and its cost the earth and dont bloody work!!!!
Dip/shower???

cheers Paul
