Be cheaper to buy a scrap hedger and rob the hydraulic system off it and graft that onto the wrapper!!!

or the other option, mentioned in the last bit of the OP:whistle:
Which begs the question, why doesn't he use the DB.......
Changing the tractor isn't the cheapest solution, but a 7610 is far more useful/capable on a farm, much as I liked the old 4000/ 4600's.

DB isn't mine. ..just used it a few times on a relatives farm [emoji6]
Looks like the 5610 will still have to do the job then. 2 pumps on that. ..can make the bale fall off!

As an aside, having only ever used a wrapper a few times (you dont see that many of them in the fen obviously)...what would be considered the optimum speed to run them at...the KV mounted wrapper we was using was running at just over a full turn every second
30rpm max on our mchale. Anything much faster than 34-35 and bales start flying everywhere.

That's with decent shaped bales as well. Puff balls need to be done at about half that speed.

I would be very surprised if you were doing 60 plus revolutions a minute. I certainly wouldn't want to be stood near one running that fast:eek:

I fully concur (y)
Having had the misfortune to wrap thousands of bales :(30 rpm is plenty
Especially in young grass for milk cows

What would the output of an auxiliary pump on its own be? No fancy plumbing needed on the 4600 if the extra pump would have enough output on its own for the wrapper.

Where are you's getting these big costs from for adding a second pump? Nearly has posted a pump and pipes on ebay for a couple of hundred and there is a priority valve from the same seller for under a hundred. Don't think anything else is required...........

Apart from bales falling off running wrapper too fast damages the wrap

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
