Ford 7840 PTO dropping out

Hi we a have a customers 7840 and the PTO intermittently drops out and the light goes out.. all seems to be charging ok. Changed the PTO module, worked for 4 hours perfectly this morning and then started to play up ot also drops out when you rev it when it plays up.!! We changed the loom into the back end 3 years ago.. thanks

Try the alternater , it sorted my 115 and i think the electrics are very similar.

Prize cover off PTO engagement knob and tighten the screw up, they can come loose.

Or more seriously it could be the PTO clutch packs,

We’ve had both issues over the years

I had this, and it was the solenoid ìn the end. Now I have another tractor playing up and nothing seems to cure it, then all of a sudden it will work perfectly, but put a diet feeder on it and it will stop working halfway through, usually at 10 o'clock at night when there are no other tractors around to work with
