E46 is just telling you that fuse 12 is blown and it's for the lift.Maybe worth removing the panels and have a look see if the shuttle lever cable is rubbing any wires.
This is what it was on mine
Had a word with a friend of mine Joe Oliveri who owns Norton Air and has worked for Murley’s and Turneys. He also suggested looking at the connection for the load sensing pins on the linkage. He was right, they were crushed and a wire which was bare. So I fixed that and rerouted it. Also checked under the gear lever box and couldn’t see anything wrong. Pulled the wires and they seemed ok.
Went ploughing for a couple of hours. All seemed well then it blew 3 times on the trot, every time I turned round.
Finally realised that it blew evertime I put the shuttle Lever into reverse. Took lid off levers again and could see a problem with the shuttle clutch button wiring.
Have cable tied it so that it doesn’t chafe any more and touch wood, it has been fine since.
Reckon I’d moved it first thing and it gradually settled back to its old position which is what fooled me into thinking I’d fixed it with the sensing pin conector.

Thanks guys for your help in getting to the bottom of it.

Would any experts on Fords sle transmission know why mine won't let me calibrate the fill time? Codes showing for pressure not sensed when pressure should be high. Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

I’d be interested to know the answer to your problem too. I have a problem with the gears changing from 2-3 and 6-7 being particularly jerky on my 7740. When I try to calibrate, I get to the same stage as you do and have to give up on it.

Yes that's exactly the same as what happening to mine, all other shifts are fine just 2-3 and 6-7 as you say, so hopefully somebody has come across this before and can shed some light upon us! Thanks for your reply.

I was dreading that was not the case but when you calibrate both clutch packs they are still well within parameters but not sure whether that means much. The tractor used to calibrate the fill time but seemed to just stop letting me do it but anyway, Thanks for your reply its greatly appreciated

Yes I had the manual sitting beside me so quite literally doing it to the book lol. Thank you for replying hope there's a solution somewhere.
Remove battery for a week, on some older models they then "forgot" the settings, so that may allow a re-calibrate... if you need the tractor overnight might work.
The idea of removing the battery sounds a good one. My tractor has done over 10k hours and I just take it gently with her by dropping the clutch if using her on the road to change up in the high gears. I’ll disconnect the battery for a week and see what happens.
I won’t expect any tractor to be perfect with regards smooth gear changes when it is 27 years old. This is a working classic that is loved and needs and deserves a bit of TLC.
Yet our other working classic 8340 is and always has been very smooth in all gear changes. But she has only done 7k in 23 years. E
We’ve never had to try to recalibrate her.
I would strongly doubt our 2 main line tractors to last that long without major issues.

Another interesting issue with our 7740 is that if you leave the 1234 N 5678 gear lever in anything other than N for a week, the battery will go completely flat. So much so that absolutely no lights will come on when you turn the ignition on.
Leave it in N and there is no problem for at least 2 months.

Probably one of the clutch packs has gone , not a massive job , dead easy to split a 40 . be done in a day with a decent mechanic
So last year was o rings on front of gearbox and a damper plate. Now I'm having to do the f/r syncro. Anything else while I have it in 2 bits. :(
