France: IHU covid variant

The vast majority of the public are behind him on this. Which tends to be a problem with the elderly who refuse to get vaccinated as they see it as unnecessary. But they are the very ones who will clog up the hospitals if the outbreak gets out of control. :banghead:

Do you think it's under control at the moment?

Not really, but the hospitals aren't under huge pressure yet outside the PACA region were it is becoming a big problem. It's an area the UK has done better, in persuading the elderly to get vaccinated and boosted which should keep hospital admissions down.

If that is the case, I have serious concerns about their ability to teach a course of medicine...

They have stated that anyone involved in healthcare will have to be double vaccinated by some date this year. This is for all health service providers, not just students etc. I've had to upload the proof that I have had this. I've since had a booster (yesterday) but there has been no guidance or announcement regarding boosters as yet. I sincerely hope I do not have to have 6 monthly injections for the next 4.5 years as that will become tedious.

I am hoping that there will be a combined flu and covid vaccine offered to anyone who wants it every November and that will be out lot. We'll have to live with it. There has to have been the neck end of 20 million actual cases of covid in the UK by now so I can't see the virus has much real estate left to play for?

This wave will be over, it will be summer, and we'll have moved on to a new flavour of covid by the time those refusers are fully jabbed and have a vaccine passport (3 weeks & 5 months).

Just as likely dead.
Assuming you agree with vaccine passports, surely it makes more sense to issue passports to anyone who now takes up the 1st jab, at least they would have some protection at a time when it's most crucial. Omicron's ability to reinfect together with the waning of the booster negate any arguments that the 3 jabbed cohort are the only group that should have access to hospitality etc and long distance travel.

As far as I know (think), they would get the passport after the second jag which are just 3 weeks apart. You then have 4 months to get the booster before the passport is cancelled. :scratchhead:
