Free Flow Hydraulic Return John Deere 5090R

Hi - this is my first post and the question has been asked before but not for this model. I am looking to run a free flow return for a timber trailer and log splitter - what is the correct port for this and what is the thread size to order. I have coloured for ease of response! I am surprised that a free flow return is not standard on modern tractors?

Out of interest is there any way to adjust the flow of the scv?

Many thanks

Mat

I think it's metric. There may be a restriction due to the small bore return hose from memory. The second option would be better though looks a bit of work.
If you look on JDparts, just like I did you'll see the part numbers for the first kit then order from you dealer.
Seriously though, your dealer has access to all that I've said.. I spent 3 minutes looking for that lot..

Hi - thanks, there is no plug in that location on the 5090r. Spoke to Farol and they say that the only option i have is to drill the filler cap and fit a return - but would look a bit rough for my liking.

I have similar dilemma to sort out. What about return to opposite spool?
i tried that and it got too hot and bust the spool on my logging trailer as the scv on the 5090r is not designed for free flow. I could perhaps use a separate scv on float but would only be a marginal improvement. I don't get why modern tractors don't have this as standard? i might end up butchering the filler cap

Now Then..
From the parts catalogue. 'Field installation kit, return line to sump'
now things are looking up...… that does look like my block with the port I circled black. I did ask Farol and HRN and both said it could not be done (other than drill the filler cap) - but on the face of your findings I do believe it can......

your 3 minutes of effort will ensure I give the dealer a roasting in the morning for trying to fob me off - massive thanks, you have saved me an impending bodge job to be able do the job properly.

Yes, we have a load of those hex spacers at work, left over from loader fitting jobs in the past. I guess it just provides some clearance.. Check out the return hose from the valve assembly, its not a massive bore.
You'd have to fit another spool (205 series)valve if you need to alter the outlet flow
