I'm sure if you sprinkled just 1 tonne of the magic prills over the entire area it would instantly transform the whole place into lush, rich acres, improving the drainage at the same time.

It's great.

I guess the prilled limes are probably the right thing for FBT's and short tenancies really where you probably won't see the longer term benefits of the bigger stuff - nutrition for the crop and not the soil

If you were offered rent free land, no BPS ................BUT it was utter shite, i.e. terrible drainage, zero indices of most nutrients, not kind to work etc

would you take it ? and what would you do with it ?? (assume you are an arable farmer and it must be cropped)
Take it, lots of quick fix sorts poor indices

There's a lot of land about in that state. Needing a new drainage system and been robbed of indices till there's nothing left. No structure either and compaction to depth.

The drainage is the biggest issue. Not a viable proposition at present commodity prices especially if you are just a tenant with no security of tenure.

Without fixing the drainage I'd say you would just be throwing money away.

Avoid.

This sounds like some of my land. No drains, water or fencing and no security of tenure. Landlords new agent says it worth £150 acre.
I have had it 25 years at a sensible rate but now I have to give it up or pay!
If you can get it for nothing then fair enough. But do you need the work?
