The webinar is designed to explore the benefits of detecting and treating the correct infection with topics including:
  • Dry cow therapy
  • Selective Therapy
  • Subclinical Mastitis
We will also explore AccuMast with a live demonstration of the on-farm test using and interpreting the plates. The webinar will be of interest to farmers and vets looking to improve their herd health and process.

Rodrigo Bicalho is an Associate Professor of Dairy Production Medicine at Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Science in the USA. Rodrigo’s research program is principally focussed on increasing the health and productivity of the dairy cow and has produced over 70 peer-reviewed publications in high impact journals. As one of the world’s leading experts in dairy animal health, Rodrigo’s extensive knowledge is often called upon by some of the largest and most progressive dairy farms globally Rodrigo is also founder and CEO of FERA Diagnostics which is the company that developed the Accumast testing plates used for detecting bacteria associated with mastitis.

George Oikonomou is a Professor of Cattle Health and Welfare at the Institute of Infection, Veterinary, and Ecological Sciences of the University of Liverpool. Prior to working in academia, George successfully managed a 600-cow dairy herd in Greece. His early academic work at Cornell University saw him actively involved in various research projects on dairy cattle lameness, mastitis and reproductive diseases. His current research program is primarily focussed on the improvement of the welfare of dairy cattle and the sustainability of dairy farms. He is a highly active researcher and has published over 60 peer-reviewed journal articles in high impact journals.

Ben Hutchinson is the Dairy Key Account Manager for Calibre Control who are experts in the application of testing solutions to the Food and Agri sectors. Ben has many years’ experience working with Calibre and its portfolio of diagnostics used on farm, trucks and processors.
Accurate diagnosis of mastitis provides a highly valuable tool that can be integrated into the implementation of a successful mastitis control plan. By administering the correct treatment, the milk production for the farmer will be optimised improving margins and enhancing the health of the herd.
