Front press

Thinking about making a front press out of an old redundant hays Harrow anybody done something similar as usual don't want to spend a lot

I made one about 9 years ago out of a farm force furrow press.managed to get all rings separated and put on a 3m bar with new bearings.made a frame out of 4x2 box and made it steerable too.had it blasted and painted and stood me about £500.

You would be surprised what a Hays Harrow is worth. Might be better to sell it and a press.

I made one out of a farm force furrow press. I cut the linkage carrier off, used that as the headstock and welded the link ball pivot on the front of the press and two box sections to the headstock and a frame on end of the box sections and made a slider frame for the steering and it’s been brilliant. Has double row of rings, it’s fairly heavy so good for the balance on headland turning and crumbles the ground up perfect for the combi.
