Brother worked gardening and got a job doing the main Astra Zeneca plant in Cheshire, had to fill in a map and other paperwork before digging or planting anything, all in triplicate.

The people who did the job previously had dug down and then rotorvated through the fibre entering the building, you can't just joint it back together, it had to have a quarter mile of new fibre put in, it seems almost all of the company's communications for the entire group went through here, it cost a small fortune to the gardeners insurance company over lost revenue for Astra Z
That's where your 100 zillion £ public liability insurance comes in 😳

We had a new overhead fibre cable installed near us recently (not for us). A work of art it goes over branches under branches, round the front of trees, behind trees, wonder if it will be sustainable ?
When fibre was being installed up the cwm the installers were complaining bitterly about the tree surgeon specialists who were hired in to clear the route before stringing began. They said that no matter who they got, they started out alright and then gradually deteriorated to a half baked job, which then made their own task much more difficult.

Open reach Fibre Sub-Con's have just installed 4kms beside a B road near here, only dug a trench where they had to, the remainder they laid in the roadside ditches then filled them in, now the local council cannot clean the ditches out but are not worried as cleaning roadside ditches is no longer a 'policy' for them
