It's time for the NFU to talk to CRD and get CTL back. This is nonsensical. Beans are either consumed domestically as feed or exported to the middle east. Fudge EU rules on this one. These EU measures are seriously anti-competitive for the UK industry.

Again, the Rizzle Kicks say "na na, na na, never gonna happen".

That is fine but then we will see fudge all beans grown eventually and it will be yet another tick off the list of crops that the bees won't have to forage from. They've already killed OSR basically. Beans next and it won't be long until other actives are killed off because of resistance as there is no CTL to back them up...

The pressure is about perceived health risks, not keeping active ingredients. The boffins who fail actives like CTL and mancozeb know nothing about crop growing nor alternatives nor resistance strategies. That is the world we live in now. Managing hazard, not risk, nor seeing the wider picture. You will see this at work in medicine too if you look deeper at approvals and revocation criteria.

If you want to see a crop getting a kicking at the moment, take a look at what potato growers have left in the cupboard.

Just think how much fun they will have slagging off farmers for bee decline when there is no osr or beans.

It will be interesting to see how the pharma world works in practice.
