Gaining permission to metal detect.

Hello
My name is Mark, I am 53 years of age and looking for permission to metal detect around the South West ,Bristol, Mendip area.
I have insurance for metal detecting with NCMD. And I will comply with the country and metal detecting code of conduct.
I will report all finds to the land owners, and willing to report any criminal offences like fly tipping etcetera.
Also taking any unwanted items like old drinks cans , bottle tops, nails etc.
And will gladly help finding any tool parts lost.
Metal detecting isn't just a hobby. It's a window to our collective past. That's hidden just below our feet.
It's also amazing for mental health, getting out into the beautiful British fields. With nature all around.

I see you have had no replies ,just in case you might be wondering why ....farmers are more or less fed up with requests like yours ,absolutely nothing against you at all, but many have joined the forum just for the same reason as you ,looking for metal detecting .
That said ,I hope you do find somewhere, we have a couple who come to our place and, while I'm not the slightest bit interested in doing it, I do find some of the things they find interesting.

Many thanks for your reply.
I did join the forum in a last hope to gain permission.
I've always rather ask for permission than forgiveness.
But alas I'm still struggling to find anywhere.
It is a most interesting hobby.
It's great that there are people like yourself that do allow people to unearth hidden history.
Hopefully a local farm close to me will eventually give me the go ahead.
Once again. Many thanks for the reply.

You are more than welcome up here but just be aware it's been metal detected many times ...though stuff still gets found

Thank you so much for your permission.
It's a bit of a distance from myself, but one day I might make it to your neck of the woods.
If I do some day make it, I'll let you know when I'm arriving.
Thank you so much.
