Game maize wierd thing

Drilled first blocks, then 2nd lot 10 days later.
1st all through great, 2nd nothing. Had a dig round, can not find a seed.
Same drill settings.
Seed went somewhere as kept adding bags to drill as like to check flow so only 2-3 bags in at a time.

Anything that ears maize seed in soil??
(No digging marks on surface)

I had something similar with sorghum a few years ago. Drilled a few blocks in to good conditions.
Nothing showing after a few days.
No holes dug, I scratched around, no seed, no hollowed grains/signs of slugs etc.

Re drilled it all and it came brilliantly. We were completely baffled by it.

What was soil temp like ?
The seed can rot if it doesn’t germinate, especially a smaller seed like sorghum
