GEA or Fullwood?

Any thoughts or comments on the above 2 companies for a new herringbone parlour? Where we are located restricts options if we want to be realistic about getting good backup and servicing so not interested in looking further than these two.

I think you’re taking the right approach. They’re both great, chose one over the other based on the spec. I didn’t like the fall you had to put in the parlour with the GEA. I suspect GEA don’t use a looped 3” milk line now.

You won’t need backup with gea, servicing is simple apart from the pulsators but they only need doing every 4 or 5 years.

Do gea demand a premium over everyone else? Always think they look the best put together parlour and presumed they would be the most expensive

Supposedly they do but they’ve come down a long way so at similar levels now. Getting a response to quote queries is painfully slow though.

Can’t imagine you are surrounded by dairy engineers being in Norfolk?

Ask for 2 dealers from each brand to quote and you will probably only have 1 that can be arsed to reply the way the ag supply industry seems to be heading at the moment.

That’s all sorted. Quotes in front of me. Very happy with local dealer. Similar parlours/similar money. Always had Fullwood no problems. Always assumed GEA better and they were fair bit more money before before haggling.

Not wishing to tempt fate and no idea about modern GEA but 16 year old Westfalia with Metatron 12s is fabulously reliable and cheap to run here.

Same here,Keep the meter control boxes dry and they are no bother.

Only difference with newer gea is the keypad control box,the meter flask, pulsators and control valve are the same, original milk meter flask started out early 80s and is still in use.?

I had a visit from fullwood when I was looking at moving parlours and the area sales chap was a complete cock job,no way I could pay towards his wage.? he’s probably moved on now but he left an impression.

Does fullwood give you the option of using the afimilk meters/keypads/it system? Have no experince of fullwood but GEA seem to have a good reputation.
