A JD 1350/1360 would use 85w-140 in the bed.
Has this the Kuhn bed? If so it has plastic bushes inside that requires thin oil and I would never use anything with a higher W figure than 75. It should never get particularly hot, so the hot viscosity is not relevant. I'd happily run it with 15/30 super universal or engine oil no thicker than 15w/40.

If it is Deere's own bed than go with the book. If it says 85w/140, so be it.

Gearboxes generally use a 80w90 EP (extreme pressure) gear oil. That JD 324 mower uses JD's own bed I assume so I can't say what oil goes in it but the Kuhn beds use 2 litres of 80w90 Hypoid gear oil in them. If your not sure then it's best to phone up your local JD garage and ask them.

Do not use EP90 in the mower cutterbar under any circumstances. A 75W90 maybe. It needs to be thin free-flowing oil.
EP90 is usually OK for other mower gearboxes.

Find those manuals and give them a read. They are essential reading and references. If your place is anything like mine, they will have been put 'somewhere safe'. ?
Pottinger use 90 in their mower beds.

Not sure, Kuhn parts do fit it but whether it's a Kuhn bed I don't know. JD book says 85/140 and she hasn't missed a beat since '95!
