Here we’ve got the leg in progress. Pre sandblasted, sandblasted, ready to paint and the painted ones standing. Then the dryer where it’s going to be, although it’ll be behind it.

Don’t want to worry you @Blaithin but we have burnt out two driers like yours……

Investigators could not find a direct reason either time.

Changed to a cflow after the last disaster.
Continuous flow?

This one can do batch or continuous. Don’t know how many years they’ve had it.

Life of a drier, to be at risk of a fire. Biggest worry when using the big ones at work and they’re also used in continuous mode.

Any drier fire I’ve been around/aware of is chaff catching fire. Running the big 100 tonne ones, we cleaned them frequently and they had half hour checks to make sure nothing was smoking. Even when they weren’t cleaned out they were opened up to make sure there wasn’t a build up somewhere. Rarely hear of farmers checking theirs, usually they’re left on batch while they take a load here or there or clean the corral, etc. And cleaning seems to be once a season. I’m really surprised there’s not more drier fires :ROFLMAO:

Got to see some of the final stages of the leg. Like the belt all laid out and the lifting of the spouts. Other stuff I had to rely on updates at work. Looks good all finished

Been extra windy here and it hasn’t blown over yet, so bonus!

Hello Blaithin, there is a "debate" about the reintroduction of wolves into the uk, any stories from your neck of the woods, where, i assume, this is their natural stomping ground.

No, they don’t frequently come to this area in any sort of large numbers. Sometimes they’ll come out of the river valley but that’s about it.

You'd think a machine THAT big and THAT expensive would have 2 comfortable seats..... :ROFLMAO:
I’m not sure it even has one comfortable seat. His back bugs him when he has to spend long days in it. Thinking it’s foot support but it’s also one of those comfy looking lazy boy type seats that doesn’t actually support you in anyway way.

I think it should have more air options considering it’s cost 😂 A nice lumbar bag or something.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
