Reading that RT have sunk money they don’t have £295k into GFC. After AHDB pulled their £250k a year out, would the easiest way to rid us of RT be to bust them.

Unless the owners think it would be a good idea to chuck in a great big investment?🤬
Yes. But the NFU would probably start a ‘save red tractor’ crowdfunding campaign!

If they desimate livestock farming . In years to come someone will turn round and say we have researched that feeding grass and grains to livestock is a great way of producing good nutritious food to eat and it is very tasty. Just look back and see how many times things just go round in circles.

It's clear where this heading now, the various iinquires all look to be flawed before they even are started. BRC are not going to walk awat from the pot of green gold they want to steal are they

only fix is to kill it - organizing a mass resignation is the only solution i can see now

wouldnt you start by calling a vote on the ahdb? a chance to flex our muscles and show the others we mean business

would be a good chance to kill off part of the ownership of rt as well??
No, I don’t think gunning for ahdb is a good idea unless it can be fully proven that they have been working against us on this. At the moment there is a lot of hear say but not actual proof.

This is just a symptom not the disease. Net zero is all about preserving the status quo and indeed further concentration of economic power into the hands of fewer and fewer wealthy individuals. If this goal is not achieved by RT it will be achieved by legislation. The whole policy has nothing to do with action on climate change and everything to do with funnelling money to the wealthy. Consumers and producers of food both suffer equally from the loss of freedom implied by this policy. Farmers could take the lead by ceasing production outside the SFI framework, then stopping paying tax, utility bills, bank repayments etc. Many will argue this is unworkable however I would say how workable is the alternative? It’s also in consumers long term interests to join such civil disobedience, it would be a matter of acting and crossing fingers to see if enough in the wider community would join in, unfortunately without consumer support farmers have little chance of changing the direction of travel.

AHDB are the least worst.
They need to say in no uncertain terms where they stand on this, they are so called against it but then they so called voted for it.
AHDB need to pick a side on this and we need to be told right from the top of AHDB what that side is.

When does the new top man at AHDB start in the job?

County NFU AGM tonight, to be attended by the high priestess I`m told
Told the movers & shakers that we are considering not renewing our membership because of the direction of red tractor & the NFU inability to stand up for farmers.the green module being the final straw.
Made the point, that I have said on here before, in 18 years of selling bottled milk, (about 1/2 million litres / year) not once has a customer asked about farm assurance / Red tractor. it`s irrelevant in the world outside of the cartel.
Also the rules for bottled milk, overseen by Env Health & Trading Standards have not changed in 20 years. Yet RT have to create new rules every year. Most totally meaningless.
Interesting to see if we get any feedback
What did she say? Was it a busy evening?
