But if you have a hospitality based business and and a few non exec roles, you might be able to make a decent incomeGiven the large amount of animal feed grown here it looks like they've signed us up for our own execution.

Agree. Arable farmers need a vibrant livestock sector.Given the large amount of animal feed grown here it looks like they've signed us up for our own execution.

This debacle by WWF, Tesco, AHDB, NFU, RT is a danger to our existence.
But surely the money pot isn’t big enough for 100% SFI for everyone and as soon as enough do it the rules will change or the payments will cease?I've honestly spent this afternoon running numbers on 100% Sfi
This is the single biggest threat I have ever had to my farm business in 30yrs. I don't think many truly realise the implications of whats going on with this
You are only considering not renewing? Our renewal came in this week and no way in hell will we be renewing! Come on man,it's time to take a stand!County NFU AGM tonight, to be attended by the high priestess I`m told
Told the movers & shakers that we are considering not renewing our membership because of the direction of red tractor & the NFU inability to stand up for farmers.the green module being the final straw.
Made the point, that I have said on here before, in 18 years of selling bottled milk, (about 1/2 million litres / year) not once has a customer asked about farm assurance / Red tractor. it`s irrelevant in the world outside of the cartel.
Also the rules for bottled milk, overseen by Env Health & Trading Standards have not changed in 20 years. Yet RT have to create new rules every year. Most totally meaningless.
Interesting to see if we get any feedback
There’s always woodland for carbon credits or just sell up for pony pamperers. By the time AHDB NFU AIC DEFRA and RT have finished it will be an easy decision. Let them eat woodchip and see how many U.K. feed mills we need if the green dream teams wishes come true. But surely the money pot isn’t big enough for 100% SFI for everyone and as soon as enough do it the rules will change or the payments will cease?
Well at least there'll be no grain for the livestock, so they'll have achieved their goals. But surely the money pot isn’t big enough for 100% SFI for everyone and as soon as enough do it the rules will change or the payments will cease?
Please report back on here.County NFU AGM tonight, to be attended by the high priestess I`m told

And he will be called a mysogynist bully for harrassing the president who has deigned to head north to talk down to the little peoplePlease report back on here.
Would you feel like asking the president why she denies NFU are on the ownership board of Assured Food Standards?

Take rotten tomatoes !
Maybe even Spanish grown red tractor tomatoesred tractor assured tomatoes of course
can only base decisions on todays reality can't we - right now the £'s is on offer and its a 3 year agreement
I'm not going to start predicting what will be the situation in 3 years time but nothing in SFI is permanent, if you mothball food production you can always un mothball ! 100% SFI still requires a drill / tractor and topper / some labour
Nah take some German red tractor assured apples, there harder and it will hurt more.Maybe even Spanish grown red tractor tomatoes
Expect a Boiler plate letter from your Local branch and Renewals. Not going, Learnt years ago sitting in NFU meetings was not the best use of my time.
Tonight Newcastle are on telly so an easy decision
My views will be raised ( Threat of loosing members appears to concentrates minds ) I`m assured & will report on feedback, if any
From Turkey with a Union Jack on.red tractor assured tomatoes of course
Join the BFU, get your neighbours to join, the more that join the bigger say we'll have.Finished with NFU and NFU insurance over 2yrs ago. How do we counteract this GFC thing? Weather is depressing enough, but farming feels more depressing going forward.
