GFC disgrace: Here's what NFU, AHDB and RT have signed us up for

He did not expect there would be a greening module shyte storm

He did not expect the details to become public of how far they (RT, the NFU, and probably the AHDB) planned to decimate our industry, and our livelihoods

He knows exactly how far up his own arse his elbow has become lodged

He is now using twitter to try slip the noose that needs tightened around the necks of parasites such as himself who purport to represent our industry

DO NOT FORGET, the NFU, RT, probably the AHDB, had signed up to force cuts of 20% to our sustainable livestock industry, and when arable included, 50% OF BRITISH FOOD PRODUCTION
AHDB need to save themselves. Imho they should pull out of RT altogether. Why would our levy board want to be associated with RT/GFC when RT/GFC is supporting cuts in domestic ag output.

With the huge reduction in output from UK farms required by this it will require at least a doubling of levy just to stand still for their budgets.
If the future of UK Ag is all about massive reduction in outputs over the next 6 years, while competing against imports, there is no longer any need for AHDB at any practical level. If they don’t fight this tooth and nail they will be out of a job regardless of a vote by levy payers.
AHDB seem to have gone quiet on this. If they support GFC or not.

You'd think they wouldn't support it at all, as the GFC supports the WWF Basket, and that means less levy income.

And based on past RT form, GFC will probably get mission creep.

Sent my hard earned £10 yesterday to BFU but not able to access their forum yet ? @Grass And Grain
Manual onboarding process onto the forums at the moment. Chris F should sort it out, but guess it will be beginning of next week.

Thanks in advance for the patience.

In Wales the NFU is NFU Cymru, led by Aled Jones. All office holders are practicing farmers, with their feet firmly on the ground.
An example of this is when pre the Royal Welsh, NFU Cymru had a press conference where they told WAG where to stick their 10% tree planting!
I’d like to resign from NFU , but stay in NFU Cymru! Don’t know if it’s achievable.

Same here.

Imagine dealing with Drakey and his cronies on a day to day basis. Paying my sub feels like sympathy money … if only it went to Cymru rather than NFU as a whole

When I asked Tom Bradshaw, at the Cheshire NFU AGM, how many had resigned over the GFC he said less than a handful. Although he slightly qualified his answer by saying some others had said they couldn’t afford NFU subs and RT so resigned for that reason.
Well speaking to 2 bods on the NFU stand at CropTec they seemed to think it had had a “significant” effect.
In the context of the NFU having already lost 16% of its farmer members the year before this all kicked off I wonder what on earth “significant” means this time around!

What is NFUS position on the RT matter? Have seen nothing in the press regarding them specifically, but I take it they also sit on the RT board?
They seem very quiet on this. I'm sure they are one of the owners as well. Subs are due in new year so would be interested to find out their position on this. Might be better saving my hard earned cash.

The GFC has only been known about for a few weeks, many members will just not renew when the subs are due, the full damage may not be known for a few months particularly if they continue to support it.

I know more than six with long a 3 mile radius of home who have cancelled direct debits
