Girl shot in London, again...

I once walked from Brixton tube station to West Norwood in broad daylight (probably about 3 or 4 miles), when my brother owned a flat in London.

It was an eye opener, being offered drugs by a complete stranger as soon as I came out onto the street in Brixton.

As an aside, I've just finished watching Peaky Blinders, and now see how gangs can proliferate through urban areas even though there is what looks like a visible police presence.

There are parts of Leicester I wouldn`t venture into after dark.
I see that as terribly sad as so many of the very diverse communities get on like normal human beings.
Unfortunately, if you "grasp the nettle" and say the issue in those estates are the Somali gangs then you are branded racist. The people who make up these gangs have brought with them a culture where life is worthless and nothing is to be feared & society has flexed too far to accommodate their "issues & difficulties".
What society needs is an accountable, strong & robust police force (not service!) supported by a strong judicial system that can be feared by criminals.
Simple things like knife crime.... 5 years for carrying & 10 years if you use it....no remission.
Not enough space in prisons? Build more.

I would also support a return of the death penalty but that is another can of worms.

I would start by looking at prisons and reoffending.

Are prisons fit for purpose or are they a taxpayer funded extension of the streets, full of gangs, drugs and toxic ideologies?

Are we sending the wrong people to jail and giving the wrong people lighter sentences and early releases?

Do we have enough prison capacity?

The police are easy to blame, but they are only the dog's tail. The broader judicial system carries most of the solutions. Both would describe themselves as under-funded, laying the blame with the government (or the Mayor of London himself).

Unfortunately if you send people to prison they'll get recruited into the Islamic gangs - which are far more violent and controlled.
Easy answer to that is keep them seperate, if they dont want that then its simple dont get sent to prison, its a funny world the government is getting involved more and more in interferring in our normal lives yet are less and less keen to do anything about the violent and disruptive elements in society, of course its called discrimination so they cant, yet its joe blogs who gets the problems from the PC world we live in

Discrimination by ordinary folk is fueled by failure to tackle gang crime and sectarian violence. That is why it is time we took back control of our laws and our country.

Its being reported on the news over here that london now has more murders than new york..im not sure if its on a oer capita basis? It seems like click bait to me.

200 murders per year...whats the population?

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...me-teenagers-statistics-figures-a8286866.html

Is this article to be believed? St.loius in usa has 65 murders per 100,000 people...low immigration area as well?

Melbourne was 69 deaths for 3 million people or so...but thats a 28 percent increase from year before. In our case drugs would be a large portion of this. Car jacking crimes have sky rocketed...from guess who...

All in all i would think londons rate is normal for a diverse multicultural society....

Ant...

Wasnt a 78 year old man charged with murder when he had a struggle with a 38 year old intruder 1.30 am in the morning...2 offenders broke into his home...

What a way to see out your retirement...being up on charges for murder trying to fight for your life when your that age...he needs a medal...if that makes it to court your city is gone....that will be the flood gates.

Did somebody take away your laws on street crime, that you need to take it back again? :scratchhead::scratchhead::scratchhead::scratchhead:

Ask the 1000s of young girls in Rotherham, Derby, Oxford, Telford ... 27 Towns in all where the law has been chucked in the bin for 40 years.

FGM .. 10,000s of girls abused and not a single criminal convicted.

Stop and search abandoned because ethnic minorities were getting searched and not enough white people.

A home owner defending his property, life and his wife thrown into the cells for 2 days.

A person has died at your hands and you expect the Police to not arrest you and leave you free to go on holiday whilst they work out what happened? Yeah I can see that being accepted by the public. Suspected killer walks free as he gave a convincing excuse at the scene?

I have no love for the police but let's be realistic here. 48 hours in police custody is hardly like being incarcerated by Ming the merciless.
