Grass disease

Disease especially in cocksfoot grasses which have become dominant in our herbal leys.

Can anyone tell me...

What is this?
Can I cure it?
What would you do in this situation?

Cocksfoot can be very susceptible to Mastigosporium which looks similar to your photo.

This fungi favours wet conditions.

What part of the world do you farm in, I see it down in my part of the world.

rightly/wrongly i'd mow it....deny fungi the living tissue......help dry the sward out

As above and give it some Nitrogen

Grazing it hard will take care of it for this season. Hoggets work well. It is a fungus and you want to destroy it before it sporulates if you want to stop it from hanging around until next year.
