Grass price for silage

Any ideas on the current price for clover rich grass suited to silage this year?

We have about 70 hectares and looking to get it cut as soon as it stops raining every day.

Went to see some last week, available from now to end of September, was told my bud would need to be in excess of £225 acre,

An absolute maximum of £12 per bale. If the buyer bales it wet, there will be more bales, and you will be quids in. If the buyer wilts it well, there will be fewer bales, but you will still get a decent income with little or no outlay.

I’ve never heard of standing grass for silage being sold by the ton, it’s usually by the acre.
