Greasing plough boards

Bit of a pita imo , my ploughs are outside and usually have to do then 2 or 3 times over the winter , was wondering what others do , considering painting them with black jack ..

Tried some spare white emulsion this time. Proper metal paint took a bit much shifting when we tried it.

Isn't emulsion water based ?

2 coats of waxoyl a day apart......
Cheaper than grease

My plough lives inside but I only brush on some waste oil which is fine.

I greased up my lathes and other tools before I left them. Put on an old tig welding glove and plastered it about with that.

Are ploughs with memory ram Electrics happy enough living outside? Obviously be better inside, but they take up a lot of space.

Old grease bucket with a mix of gear oil and grease ,,warm it up and paint onto fresh bright metal ,,it clings much better than using it cold

Some other bright spark told me that on this forum and it is bloody useless
