Growing swedes

Toying with the idea of growing some ,how much of a risk of crop failure ?
Is anyone growing them with a companion crop?
We've been growing turnips successfully for years just fancy more output!
Ideas, thoughts please.

Asked wynnstay rep about mixing maincrop turnips with swedes 50:50 and he said the turnips will outgrow them and not worth doing but he's the only one I heard it from

I see someone mixed some into Kale and rape ?

I know I've seen a mix of rape kale swedes and turnips listed in a seed catalogue but it was something like 1/4kg swedes in 2kg/acre mix. I just wonder about timing because swedes are going to need longer to grow before grazing than everything else

If it’s done with a precision drill have seen alternating 2 or 3 rows at a time with kale. We have struggled with weeds and flea beetle. But great crop if you can get them away.

@neilo is your man. Think he direct drills them. Which would definitely help with moisture retention. Was better in the days when you could use Treflan pre em.
