Measure Map app for Android. Area Finder for iOS. Many other good free apps are available.

How accurate do you need to be? Smartphones don't have any GPS correction signal eg. Starfire, Trimble RTX

A Trimble Nomad would do your job. I wouldn't rely on a phone app. A customer of mine got one and started resizing all his fields. It was way out compared to the GPS on the sprayers and just as far out when the RPA came to measure his wild bird mix area!
