With the significant rise in fuel prices since last harvest and the ever spiralling machinery prices; what are people charging or being charged for combining this year? Are you distinguishing between chopping the straw or windrowing?

It was £35/ac last year. Fuel and labour has added £10 straight away, then you factor in replacement costs. Servicing, parts. All gone up big time

Mine was doing 8.5L/ac with the chopper in today, 7ac/h so that’s 59.5l/h so that’s £62.16/h just in fuel.

As for charges, it’s costing me around £3.60/ac extra in fuel compared to last year. Plus the increase in labour, parts etc. Probably £5-6/ac increase over last year prices.
