Bought a brand new case farmall 105c November 18 with loader etc. Just done 250 hours up to present with it.
Anyway do we think case/dealer will stand by it as difflock has given up working.
Checked all fuses etc that I can etc and christ knows what I’m looking for underneath as there’s that many wires connectors etc.
I think it only came with 12 months warranty.
As I said I haven’t asked dealer yet just after opinions as to if we think they will stand by it with so little hours.
There is a ongoing pto issue that they need to sort out from new which they know about but have not sorted but I haven’t pushed them either.

I might suggest they sort the diff lock, or at least investigate, for no charge when they finally sort the pto issue.

Situations like this, Try to get a meeting with the dealer and Case area service person. Be polite, be fair. Nobody on here can give you the answer. You will get advice from '' tell them to take it back and see them in court'' to '' its your fault for driving down road at 40k with front diff lock engaged''.
Manufacturers and their staff are human and most will happily sit around a table to discuss things. You have nothing to lose.

It’s so disappointing that there are so many issues with low houred tractors going wrong just outside of warranty and manufacturers not standing by them. Imagine the positive affect it would have if people were coming and posting on here of how manufacturer and dealer couldn’t do enough to help, far better than glossy pictures in the farming press. Great advice from Robt above probably get the salesman involved and get any agreement in writing or email. One thing I try to do is give a new tractor as much work as possible while it’s in warranty so that any issues or electrical gremlins surface and get dealt with.

I very much doubt it we had a jd with issues pointed out in warranty the cane and fixed them some time later and billed us I believe it was waved but not until a lot of fuss!

Case are a reputable manufacturer and if the dealer puts in a claim under goodwill policy with such low tractor hours I would think it will be honoured , they will probably only pay the dealer at warranty rate and flat rate manual hours so he will only just about cover his costs , however if he is a reputable dealer , which he probably is , he will hopefully do it out of goodwill having supplied the tractor in the first place ( I am not a Case dealer or own any Case equipment but speak from my own experience with low hour

Three questions:

18 months ago I bought something with 12 months warranty. Is it still under warranty?

I've been using a machine with a fault for ages without bothering to get it repaired, why hasn't the supplier repaired it it?

Do farmers live in the real world?

If you had bought it and used it for a hundred hours a week and it broke down after 11 months 3 weeks, would you say the dealer could ignore the warranty as you had used it so much?

My experience of Case with a hugely troublesome Quadtrac has been superb. I very much doubt any manufacturer would of replaced 2 complete engines at zero cost to the owner. As we replace our smaller tractors Case will definitely be considered.

Why, it didn't have a hourly warranty it had a time warranty. It is now out of warranty.......

If they say no you've lost nothing. If they say yes you've gained a lot. If they meet you halfway such as you pay for parts and they'll save labour costs then you've gained a bit!

Any decent dealer knows that if they treat you right you'll more than likely come back for another machine imo

You just have to ask and see.

I have had a new turbo and the head repaired (due to turbo bearing letting go) fitted at 20 months old, not too many hours (700ish), I pointed out that a turbo at that age should not do that, they agreed and was all done for free.

This was a Ford TW35 20+ years ago.

not sure if you watch mike mitchel youtube channel im sure they have had problems with quadtrack engines

Most warrantys have a time and hours limit. As in 1 year 1200 hours or 5 years 5000 hours. So yes if u used it for 100 hours each week for 51 weeks and it had a 1 year 1200 hours warranty they could walk away

I think the first 12 months warranty is regardless of hours, it’s the extended warranties that are hour dependant.
