Inverness Hearing Services , are very good.


You can do this in England, they subcontract it out. In Scotland , you have to goto Doctor, who refers you , to hearing specialist at hospital. They you have several appointments, over several months, before you get them.

I got sent for a hearing test as mine isn't great I can hear a squeaky bearing on a noisy machine but low noise beats me . Anyway I got offered one but thought at 48 I was too young now I am 51 and getting worse

Well I have just got them (at 48) Widex, blu tooth on phone and telly. Paid a bit for them, looking forward to trying them at meetings.

Can you not go to your GP and get a script for either spec savers or boots that's what my mother in law did !

Dont think Specsavers do then now for NHS and it's a 18 month wait

Got mine courtesy of the NHS years ago to be replaced with mould in ear type more recently, batteries supplied as required -- all free. I just send in my yellow registration card periodically and it is returned with batteries. Yes, getting an appointment is slow but they get there.

I often leave my aids out as even the mould type can fall out. PPE masks are all tested and the ones with elastic that can't fire a deaf aid more than 30m are rejected.
