They a great bit of kit. Reared 120 on mine last year and the lambs did brilliantly, (March and April born lambs all gone by early sept and only 2 dead). They drink a hell of a lot but just do so well. If you get one they sell a cone that goes around the teat to stop them chewing.

Great bit of kit, just keep it clean, I flush mine every day and mix the milk twice a day so it stays fresher. I don't ass about with a bottle now just put some wool round the teat with a tie wrap and they soon learn the way.

A 20kgbag of milk powder per lamb is what I tend to use your best to keep them going if your are feeding this way. when it come to weening them off it I just fill it with water.

If CATS are eating the teats I would be care full as CATS urine can cause all sorts of problems at lambing time.

Yes we really like ours, had it for 3 or 4 years I think. The new cone thing sounds like a good plan as the older lambs tend to chew the teats, and they have also brought out a new hand pump thingy to help when flushing the pipes through. The cleaning is a bit of a pain, but much less of a pain than bottle feeding 20 lambs! Don't let it run out of milk if you can help it so they don't fight over the teat when you refill. They do really well on it, and seem much healthier than on a bottle.
