Hexashift on pre 2013 Claas tractors

Just been browsing interesting 2nd hand tractors. I like what i hear about the 2nd generation Claas Axions. How does the transmission work though? Is it just a manual dyna 6 or is there automation, pedal drive, ranges?

Thanks for any comments, hard to find anything online, let alone a operators manuals. Guess i could ask the used salesguy, but this might be quicker?

I understand they come out of the same Gima transmission plant, and mechanically are fundamentally a MF Dyna6.
So they should be fine, plenty of them about.

6 powershift, 4 robotic range changes.

In Auto mode it can be pedal driven from A1 to D6 fully automatic.

In field mode to change ranges you do a long detent press on the powershift switch.

Same gearbox setup has been used from approx. 2007 to present.
I drove an 850 on a harvest job, could never get the auto mode set to work very well. As I remember it, you could adjust the speed it shifted at but I couldn’t find a setting that worked for both upshifts and downshifts.

I thought it was a pretty good transmission though, with decent shift quality and really simple to use.

Yes the long detent range change can catch out inexperienced drivers 😳

I would expect the rollers in the base need replacing. If the get too bad then it wears the runners and axles for the rollers too.

Grammer and the dealers do rebuild kits for them.
