Hi
Currently have a 3axle unit taxed for 44t.
I’m never heavier than 32t.
I can’t make head nor tail of the tax bands.
If I was to get the truck down rated to 32t what would the tax be costing in the year. I’m only moving my own kit and running with a 3 axle low loader.
Thanks
Not sure what’s to do to derate a unit I’ve only done rigids in the past. Used to take the helper spring stops off then they wouldn’t accept that to derate them because we used to put them back on. They made us first burn the stoppers off then they wanted the helper spring ends burnt off as well as the stoppers.
To de rate a unit it used to be taking bolts out of the fifth wheel or even replacing some with lighter grade bolts. Bloody stupid in my eyes.
Not sure what the difference is in tax, if it’s not a lot it’s hardly worth all the faff on for you to be honest
Its not £80 you need to add the levy on as well euro 6 on £360 for 12 months or euro five and earlier£468.
So if you have a euro 6 truck 3 axle and 3 axle trailer trailer £440 total running at 32 ton
