Hi all just been reading ....

Hi all i have just been reading the "One Straw Revolution" a no plow method of growing using No herbicides and no fertilisers, and he gets the same crop weight as modern methods that is ruining the land by destroying the soil fauna and flora, no poisons applied to the land natural crop pest management, and using older varieties of seed that manage to produce more than modern "better seed varieties", a fascinating read that is proven to work over 20 years of application massively improves soil quality, the guy is a genius, i reccomend it to anyone that is concerned about putting poisons and chemicals on their land, which affect health and nutrition, weed suppresion is managed by using clover as a crop cover and a living manure fixing nutrients back to the soil, so get yourself a copy and give it a read, happy xmas all have a great time with your families.

Welcome along to the funny farm :)

It never stopped working, that's the thing - but it's very difficult to market doing nothing, buying nothing to folks that have grown up with a massive chip on their shoulder about "losing control".

Fear is the driver, along with distorted values of both farm inputs and outputs, the folk with the biggest bills coming in have much greater pressure to sell more out the gate.
I think to truly "get" low input farming you need to be in touch with your child-like state - where most things were possible, before your parents instilled fear and caution into your psyche and ruined your life, possibly the same way their lives were ruined by their own parent's insecurities?

Thus there's a rapid divergence in agriculture today, on one side you have people too frightened of what could happen to stop killing stuff, and on the other hand you have folk who realise that if they don't meddle with everything all the time, then the planet is perfectly capable of feeding itself.
"Follow the money" and you'll soon see that project fear is designed to remove most of the wealth from rural areas, to sell it back (with interest).
Also, you'll note that these guys will boldly promote just how much "farming benefits the environment" while working out what to kill next.. it's very sad

I'm getting "that book" for Christmas

Who knows where I'll be by January, probably bankrupt :sneaky:
My wife is the culprit, because I'm too tight to buy regen ag books she's buying them for me

One Straw Revolution is definitely on my list as well, just haven’t gotten around to buying it yet . . .
Has been highly recommended by a number of people I respect
